I hope your Christmas celebration was full of joy and that you had fun bringing in the New Year. Now it is time to get back to our writing.
The New Year brings a few exciting changes for Inspire.
First: We have a new meeting location, Ettore's European Bakery (beginning February 17) see left sidebar for meeting dates, times and locations.
Second: Because we have had very full critique meetings, we need to start submitting our mss for critique via email prior to the meetings. There simply is not enough time to give everyone a fair critique in only two hours. So beginning with the January 13th meeting, please submit your ms to the group via email.
I will send out a group email so you will have everyone's email address.
Please limit your ms word count to 1500 words (or close to it—we are not going legalistic here). Be sure your ms is double-spaced. MS should be submitted by Saturday night at midnight prior to a critique meeting. (For example: We are meeting on the 13th, submissions are needed by midnight on the 10th.)
I am excited about these changes. I love the new location. Submitting our mss in advance will give critique-ers the opportunity to more thoroughly review each piece. I am confident our writing will benefit from this change.
If for some reason you miss a Saturday deadline and would like to bring something to the group for critique, please bring it and we will review it as time allows.
I know many of you drive long distances to participate in Inspire and I appreciate your efforts. I hope these changes will make your participation even more fruitful and fun.
